Job Conference: Tips when going on the Job Hunt!

Stagiaires will have to leave the European Parliament soon and they are all thinking about the same thing: finding a Job!!! The European Parliament Stagiaires Association (EPSA), an association working for the needs and rights of EP stagiaires, organised a Job Conference in the EP so that they could have the keys to success. It was hosted by Romanian MEP Marian-Jean Marinescu on Wednesday 9 January. Ranging from tips when writing a CV to working conditions in Belgium, the conference listed the steps to be successful when on the job search.

TIPS

The CV:

  • a valorisation of useful elements related to the aimed function, enterprise or sector

It should not be generic (you should adapt it according to the job you’re applying for)

Start each sentence with an action word

It should be 1 page for an entry level position, 1 page if you have a lot of experience

It should have no spelling or grammar errors (you can ask a friend to check it)
